Lack of finance threatens the activities of a key strategic company - NKU
Bratislava, February 14, 2020 - The lack of public finances is underlining the poor technical condition of water structures, several of which are in a state of disrepair and may endanger the inhabitants in their vicinity.
Obsolete machinery and a lack of trained staff in the State-owned company Slovenský vodohospodársky podnik (SVP) may also cause Slovakia to fail to meet its international obligations under the Belgrade Convention on the Regime of Navigation on the Danube. These critical findings result from the audit performed last year by the national authority for external audit in the SVP, the audited period was 2016 to 2018.
