The Office shall be headed by the President as a statutory authority. The President shall be deputised by the designated Vice-President.

 

The President and two Vice-Presidents shall be elected and recalled by the National Council of the Slovak Republic by secret ballot.

 

The term of office of the President and the two Vice-Presidents shall be seven years.

 

The President and the two Vice-Presidents may be elected to their offices for no more than two consecutive terms of office.

 

The President shall remain in his or her office after the completion of his or her term of office until a new President has been elected by the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

 

The Office fulfils its duties by means of its organisational units represented by Departments, Regional Offices, Divisions, Personnel Office, Secretariats and Desks.
