The incomprehensibility of the legislation complicates the personal data protection

Bratislava 12.  June 2020 - Public administration does not sufficiently ensure the protection of personal data. The State has no information about how much funding institutions need to comply with the provisions of the EU Regulation on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data (GDPR). The auditors found that up to 82% of entities, especially smaller municipalities, do not have enough funding to ensure the required level of data protection.

At the same time, half of the subjects consider the Personal Data Protection Act and the relevant methodological guidelines to be difficult to understand. The system measures recommended by the SAO SR to the Government are aimed at better comprehensibility and methodological guidance of this agenda by the responsible authority, but also towards the issue of financing this agenda.
