Openness is a key prerequisite for the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to bring value to citizens. Partner audit institutions from Russia, Austria, France, Brazil, and Mexico and Slovakia agreed at yesterday's (Monday, April 12, 2021) online seminar of the auditors´ community INTOSAI.

Vice-president of the SAO SR Ľubomír Andrassy and Director of the Communication Department Janka Burdová presented our communication solutions and the achieved results through traditional media and the so-called new (digital) media, such as 70 % increase in visitors to the website www.nku.gov.sk, or multiple year-on-year growth in the followers of individual social networks and the MuMAP application.

Participants exchanged experience, examples of good practice and solutions in response to topics on how SAIs can help citizens and how to reach them most effectively. They also talked about issue concerning which are the main target groups of communication and how we adapt the outputs to the needs of ordinary people.

The conclusion was devoted to the environment of openness and the topic of monitoring the openness of public authorities and audit actions in this area.
